Sisters Perfecting Meeting

Sisters Perfecting Meeting
4-6 february 2012

God desires for a group of people on earth to live a God-expressing and flesh-restricting life. For this purpose, we need to be trained and perfected. Titus 2:12 says, "Training us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly and righteously and godly in the present age." Only through perfecting and training, we can do the work of the ministry, for the building up of the Body of Christ. The Sisters Perfecting Meeting (4-6 February 2012) recently helped and perfected the sisters to know God's will that they may serve and function according to this vision.

In the universe, there is God. This God has a will, a good pleasure (Eph. 1:5) which He purposed in Himself. God's will is not regarding some minor things. God's will is His will regarding His eternal purpose, regarding His economy concerning Christ. The original, good, perfect, unchangeable, mysterious, divine, eternal and ultimate will of God is to gain the Body of Christ for His expression on earth. The Body of Christ is a reality. It is not a sign or a symbol but it is real. This Body of Christ has Christ as the Head of the Body and the life of the Body and we are the many members, which constitute the Body of Christ.

Ephesians 5:30 says that we are members of His Body. We all know that we are believers, but we must also know that we are members of the Body of Christ as well. Thus, we have everything to do with the will of God. Our existence and our salvation are for this sole purpose, to live the Body life for the expression of God. God desires His children express Him on earth. Amen!

Dear saints, if we see and know God's will, our spirit will stir up the genuine desire for us to be living, functioning, coordinating and serving members in the Body. We will neither despise or think highly of ourselves nor withhold our functions but eager to serve in the Body. We are many members of the one Body of Christ, individually members one of another and organically joined to all the other members. Each needs the function of all the others. When we rise up to be functioning, serving members in the Body, holding Him as the Head, being harmoniously coordinated to practice the Body life in one locality with the universal Body of Christ in view, we express the universal Body of Christ, thus fulfilling God's eternal will.

Praise the Lord for the released of these words. 100 sisters mainly from Klang Valley seized this opportunity to be perfected that they may know God's will and even to cooperate with Him in carrying out His will by functioning in the church.

Message One: Concerning the Will of God

In eternity God planned a will which was hidden in Him. However it was the pleasure of God's heart to make the mystery of His will known to us. Apostle Paul prayed and asked God on our behalf that we may be filled with the full knowledge of His will and became those who "does the will of God" (1 John 2:17) as seen in the pattern of the Lord Jesus, apostle Paul, apostle Peter, apostle John, and the New Testament believers.

For this reason, we need to aspire to know God's will. We need to pay the price, to love God, to have the desire that we want to know what is God's will and even have a strong will to choose God's will. This involves our tripartite being: our regenerated spirit, the faculty of our soul particularly our mind and our will, and our body. Our spirit needs to be exercised that we may have spiritual wisdom to perceive God's eternal will. Our mind needs to be renewed to know and understand what we have perceived and received in our spirit. Our will needs to be strong to will to choose God's will. We even need to present our bodies as a living sacrifice to carry out God's will to the extent of doing it habitually and continually, not just occasionally.

Message Two: Concerning the Body of Christ—A Reality

Once we receive the Lord, we have received a new life from God. This life will give us a feeling, the feeling or consciousness of the Body of Christ. First Corinthians 12:26 says, "And whether one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or one member is glorified, all the members rejoice with it." This feeling is real because the Body of Christ is a reality and the life of God in us is a fact and an experience. These inner feeling come from God's enlightening and from life; they are not from man.

May the Lord be gracious to us so that we can touch the feeling of life and live by the feeling of life. May the Lord give us rich feelings so that we will have feelings for everything—feelings for sins, feelings for God, feelings for the Body of Christ, and feelings for all spiritual reality. When we have the feeling (consciousness) of the Body of Christ, we would have brotherly love, be delivered from division, individualistic works; we would see the need of fellowship, see that we are only members in the Body, and we would also be conscious of the authority of the Head. Only when we yield obedience to the authority of the Lord, enjoy the fellowship of life of the Body and supply life to others will we be able to live practically in the Body of Christ.

Message Three: The Head of the Body

Christ is the Head of the Body; we must subject to Him as our Head. Even in our personal universe, we must allow Him to be the preeminent One by loving Him with our first love, our best love. We have received the divine life, but this life cannot be separated from the Head; this means that we cannot be independent in anything because only the Lord is the Head. The headship of Christ does not allow any other heads or subheads. He has all the authority in the Body. As the member of the Body, we cannot move freely; we can only move at the direction of the Head. Even the relationship among the members of the Body must first pass through the Head. He is the Head directly of every one of us.

Message Four: The Life of the Body

Our living on this earth is to express Christ. If we live by the life of Body, we would thus express the life of the Body. The life of Christ indwelling us is not a "member life" but a "Body life"; it is a corporate life. All the members of the Body are sharing this one life. This Body life joins us together and mingles us to become the Body of Christ. First Corinthians 12:15-16 reveals that we are the members of the Body and we have this life of the Body. Therefore, we all can function in the Body for the building up of the Body of Christ. Furthermore, this life of the Body needs fellowship; without fellowship, there is only death. It is through fellowship that we receive and enjoy the supply of the Body. Everything we have is in the Body, through the Body, and for the Body.

Message Five: Many Members of the One Body of Christ (1)

Dear saints, if we really see the Body, and we are many members of the one Body of Christ, we will be revolutionized. The purpose of God's salvation is to have Christ reproduced in millions of us that we may become the members of His Body, parts of a living, functioning, coordinated, corporate whole. We also need to realize that it is God who had placed us in the Body to be members one of another. All the members in the Body do not have the same function. Each needs the function of all the others. Thus, all the members in the Body are indispensable.

Our function develops as we grow in life so that we may function in the Body of Christ in a coordinated way. Romans 12:6 shows us that when the grace of Christ was given to us and we experienced it, we received gifts. In other words, the gifts in this verse are received according to the grace given to us and are a result of our experience of the grace of Christ. When this grace comes into us, it brings with it the element of certain spiritual skills and abilities, which, accompanying our growth in life, develop into the gifts in life that we may function in the Body of Christ to serve God. Since we have all received grace, we all should neither despise or think highly of ourselves nor withhold our functions but eager to function and serve in the Body according to the measure that the Lord had measured to us.

Message Six: Many Members of the One Body of Christ (2)

We all know that we are believers. We must also know that we are members of the Body of Christ as well. If we see the Body and see that we are only a member, this will be a great salvation to us. In the Body, Christ is not only the life of the Body; He is also the authority of the Body. Since life is in Him, authority is also in Him. Whenever we submit to His authority, we have life. If we see what the Body is, we will spontaneously come under the control of the Head and would not move freely; it can only move at the direction of the Head. The only responsibility the Body has toward the Head is submission and obedience. Only when we hold the Head, will we be able to manifest the Body life.

Furthermore, members are joined together through holding the Head and living the Body life. Thus, we need to have a proper relationship with Christ. Once we have proper relationship with Christ, we have proper relationship with the other member. Spontaneously we will be delivered from individualism to become a living member. Brothers and sisters, being a member we have a part in the service of the Body of Christ. The meaning of serving the Body of Christ is to receive life from the Head for the supply of the Body.

As long as we are members, we have a definite function. No member is so small that he does not have any function. Let us not take the lies of Satan but rise up to function as a member in the Body.

Message Seven: The Relationship between the Universal Church
and the Local Church and Practicing the Local Church Life
in the Consciousness of the Universal Body of Christ

Finally, all our function and practice of the church life in a local church must be in the consciousness of the universal Body of Christ. The basic principle and the source of the local churches are the Body. The local church is just an expression in a locality of the one universal church of God, the Body of Christ. By knowing the Body in this way, our church life will change. We will no longer be just for a local church because we are part of the Body of Christ.

Our knowing and being concerned for the universal Body of Christ will be expressed by our willingness to participate in the Lord's move throughout the whole earth by praying in His prayer, giving in His giving, and going in His going that His will on this earth could be done. Praise the Lord!

Conclusion

The perfecting meeting for the sisters this time was truly enjoyable and full of lights. The hearts of the sisters were filled with much appreciation and thanks to our God for the clear revelation concerning the will of God that is the Body of Christ. Many sisters testified that their time was wasted in the past for not knowing the will of the Lord. Thus, the meeting this time was really a time redeeming moment for to understand the will of the Lord is the best way to redeem the time (Eph. 5:17). They even aspire to choose God's will, cooperate with God's will, and to function in the Body for the building up of the Body of Christ. May the Lord gain our will to do God's will to be those who "seek first His kingdom and His righteousness".
